刚拿到了emperor的prometheus, 现在的emperor变成技术死亡了, 感觉结构复杂, 不好消化, 下面是国外网站的碟评:

Have this CD at home for a few weeks, because I have to admit that I didn't find my way into the new album of "mighty" EMPEROR immediately. Their current direction doesn't have much in common with their old albums, let alone Black Metal anymore. So, all of you, who are waiting for a follow-up to "Into The Nightside Eclipse" - forget it!
You could best compare the songs with their last effort "IX Equilibrium", but even that only partly. Anno 2001 EMPEROR play a very "own" variant of technical Death Metal. The opener, which starts out with a classical intro, is called "The Eruption" and truly fits its name! Absolutely fantastic riffs drill into your brain and a perversely fast, but super-tight drumming beheads you precisely! Reminds me a little of BEHEMOTH's latest! Brilliant. Evil vocals alternate with clear! By far the highlight of this album!

The following "Depraved" is a prime example for hard-to-digest material. The song starts with Industrial-like sounds before a weird riff sets in. Then we have the obligatory tempo-change, the song goes straight for your throat, with really strange and hectic riffing. Best be compared with more complex MORBIG ANGEL-albums. But still sounds completely different. Insane! "Empty" puts the pedal to the metal, underlaid with keyboards and again these psycho-riffs! Also pretty weird and super-hectic. Cool how EMPEROR mix their sound with classical quotations! That's what I call avant-garde! But unfortunately the speed is too high!

"The Prophet" begins quite ominously, with dark riffs and double-bass, before some kind of choir-vocals set in. The song continues as a great Doom-monster with strings and great multi-layered vocals, but then, I feared it, we have the break and everything is lost in pure speed! A pity, killed the whole song! Why? Could have been a highlight. Well, towards the end this Doom-riff returns and the world seems to be OK again. "He Who Sought The Fire" starts relatively normal, but superfast. But also not really my cup of tea, because it consists only of strange riffs. The EMPEROR-guys seem to think it was cool to use a collection of the weirdest and most perverse sicko-riffs on their farewell-album. Most likely they give a shit about what the fans think anyway. I am quite tolerant and also can find some appeal in the most weird stuff, but why? You really can exaggerate! The closing "Thorns On My Grave" once more proves that it can still be faster. Perverse! Combined with the symphonic keyboards it sounds very interesting indeed. Respect! The track also is very strange and mega-hectic, but more to my liking! But in general this opus sees far too much blasting.

If I think at the creativity on this album, impressive, but if I see that much ends in unnerving songs, then even I lose my optimism. Technically God and Satan in one person, but the songs themselves are just too crass! Let's see how the fans will receive this album, more a reviewer's thing. I don't really know what I should say about this album, but many points have been deducted for the incomprehensible passages of this CD. EMPEROR, if this was your way, then I am glad that you have split. We will remember your albums with reverence.
